Human health starts in the bowels: bowel movement as a center of body functions

The food industry is led by an intent to make money instead of an intent to create health. The majority of people who produce food do not know much about health. Most are in business for profit. In ancient times, before it got perverted, maybe doctors were teachers (from the latin root docere which means to teach) ? Our health conditions are mainly being created by our lifestyles, led by the propaganda around food programming (one of the biggest program there is, alongside with romance programming). It isn’t enough to treat symptoms ; what is the cause and the origin point ? Unfortunately, we can only expect partial or even negligible results with clean food if we do not clean the intestines first. Bowel dysfunction and toxicity are often the source of our discomfort. The near absence of pain-transmitting nerves makes it difficult for us to receive distress calls from our bowels. A malfunctioning and toxic bowel is not only the origin point of physical dysfunctions but also mental distresses.

Having bowel movements is central as a body function. The mechanism of elimination is very delicate and easily upset. When the bowel is only moved once a day, the digestive tract tends to contain the residue of six meals. The only stimulation the bowel that is natural comes from exercise and a proper physiologically adapted way of eating. Once disturbed, the intestines often require weeks, maybe months, to find a regular rhythm again. Laxatives are irritants and do not assist the body in restoring its proper functions. Once a bowel has diverticula, it is common to have gas. In ancient tribes, there is virtually no incidence of diverticula or colon cancer. They consume a diet of pure whole natural foods (mainly unprocessed and uncooked) and usually have a bowel movement about one half hour following each meal. Westerners who consume many processed, cooked and devitalized foods generally don’t attain more than one bowel movement a day.

Constipation is much more than a chronic difficulty in having a bowel movement. On the other hand, diarrhea, which tends to dehydrate the body and to upset its electrolyte balance, will often be the effect of a bowel which does its best to liquefy the content of the colon, to rid itself of the toxic waste accumulation. In the past, it was not uncommon for mothers to give their children an enema. We may use garlic blended with a cup of distilled water, then strained before adding it to the water of enemas. Enemas are a life-changing practice of self-care. Even the natural position of elimination, squatting, has been stolen away from us. This is a position in which all of the internal organs are held in proper position. Using the toilet as we know it comes with undesirable hidden consequences ; this is the laws of the inverted system we are in. The result of this new habit being proposed to us is that we eliminate less fecal mass. Using the toilet results in incomplete elimination.

The digestive tract

Normally it takes 18 hours for food to go through the body, from the mouth until elimination. Sometimes, the lunch residue is passing into the colon and mixing with the breakfast residue. Chronic intestinal stasis is an abnormal delay in the transmission of the intestinal contents through portions of the gastrointestinal tract. The normal diameter of the colon is between 5 to 7 centimeters. Autopsies have revealed it could enlarge a lot more, the bowel walls being encrusted with obstruction. Putrefactive fermentation results in considerable gas, discomfort and reabsorption of toxins into the body followed by auto intoxication. Beans and other legumes (starches and proteins) tend to cause gas because of the presence of indigestible sugars. Because these sugars are complex, when they arrive in the lower intestine, the bacteria present is digesting them, releasing the byproducts of carbon dioxide hydrogen and sometimes methane. Other foods that are naturally gas forming include the sulfur foods such as broccoli, cabbage and onions.

Consequences of putrefaction

Food items such as animal proteins, meat, coffee and cooked food tend to reduce the numbers of friendly bacteria in the bowel or interfere with them. On the other hand, raw food encourages the establishment and maintenance of a balanced intestinal flora. In contrast to the small intestine, in which there is very little bacterial action when healthy, the large intestine has billions of microscopic organisms in it. When the colon is not evacuated in a timely fashion, the normal intestinal flora are replaced by harmful bacteria, and intestinal toxemia is the inevitable consequence, the body reabsorbing its own toxic waste. When the bacteria multiply greatly and the proteolytic bacteria (the bacteria involved in protein breakdown) overgrow the others, it does produce toxic chemicals in the process. Protein digestion produces the most toxic metabolic products. Reducing protein intake is assisting to manage liver dysfunction. When feces reach the rectum, they are about 65-percent water and 27-percent bacteria. The remaining 8 percent is made up of food residues, cellulose (fiber), indigestible materials and dead cells.

Proteins tend to increase the concentration of phenol in the urine ; it is both corrosive and a systemic poison that causes the destruction of the gastrointestinal lining as well as of kidney and liver cells. Hydrogen sulfide is another byproduct of protein decomposition that is very toxic. Abnormal cancer causing cells were found five times more in women who had fewer than 3 bowel movements per week. Laboratories have found much more hydroxyskatole, linked to the action of putrefactive bacteria, in the urine of schizophrenics than in that of normal subjects. There is also a strong association between the toxic state of the bowel and many types of skin conditions. In addition, when the function of the liver is not normal, toxic substances are harder to detoxified.

The importance of the lymphatic system and a proper kidney function

The cell, if it is rinsed with proper nutrient solutions, will maintain itself and live very long. It is merely the fluids in which it floats which degenerate. The life of our cells depends upon the quality and cleanliness of the fluids that bathe them. We therefore understand the vital importance of our lymphatic system, a major elimination channel that is overlooked. The lymph is picking up intracellular waste and is working alongside with kidneys. Kidneys are very important : they play a big role in our internal cleaniness. They are supposed to filter a lymphatic cloud and sediment each time we urinate. Usually kidneys are locked and have been unable to function properly for decades, most of the time since we are born. Regaining this body function is key in regeneration and healing. When it can not be filtered out, waste is accumulating as it has nowhere to go. This leads to the layering of decades of obstruction. Drinking watermelon juice will aid the kidneys in their elimination job and to gain back their filtering function. It can be a long process of several months of dedication to a frugivore way of eating.

The forced removal of lymphatic tissues

What is very interesting to observe is the tendency of the medical field to want to get rid of one part of the body, as if that part did not come with a purpose for the human biology. The lymphatic system is subtle and silent and medicine barely addresses it. How surprising is it to consider that the tonsils are lymphoid tissues with their specific function : they aid in the removal of wastes that occur in the body due to infection. An inflammation of the tonsils indicates that the body is trying to throw off an overload of waste material. Removing the tonsils compromises the elimination system because it forces other excretory pathways to do the job the tonsils once did. The appendix is another example of lymphoid tissue that the medical field tends to want to get rid of ; this resulting in deeply weakening the individual. It too can become inflamed if it is overburdened and toxic when the colon is dysfunctional.

The negative effects of table salt and sugars

Foods are not pure if they are pickled, salted, processed or canned. Many processed and packaged foods contain inorganic sodium in the form of additives such as preservatives or taste enhancers. This sodium (like table salt) does not react in the body the same way the biochemical sodium contained in living foods does, which neutralizes acids and assists in the reconstruction of the bowel walls. Different soils have different mineral contents and that affects the mineral content of what is produced. When plants are growing in a salty soil, they have a higher sodium content. A mixture of garden herbs will be more gentle on the body than salt is. Some individuals are even allergic to salt. Many restaurants are adding monosodium glutamate to their food. A lot of us are allergic to it. Refined sugars are empty and harmful calories. Wheat contains gluten, the sticky substance responsible for the elasticity in bread dough. Gluten adheres to the bowel in the same sticky manner. Calcium deficiency affects the quality of our bones while potassium deficiency has an influence on the development of good muscles. Chickens fed only white rice for a couple of months could not hold their wings up. Pigeons fed white rice lost strength in their legs and became unable to stand.

Transitioning to a physiologically appropriated way of eating

When there are heavy degrees of inflammation, a way to manage this is to alternate periods of liquid fasting with a mostly mucus free way of eating (with a ratio of raw food around 60-80% (easier in the summer time), which will ensure a better balance of hydration levels). In addition to vitamins and minerals, raw foods supply natural enzymes, which are destroyed with cooking, and fibers. A high fiber content (in raw vegetables) is assisting to decrease bowel transit time. Rapid transit means that substances are not in the intestine long enough for putrefaction to occur. Vegetables are composed largely of complex carbohydrates, they do not produce nearly the amount of putrefactive wastes that foods high in protein do.

Cleansing will alternate with periods of restoring, rebuilding and stabilizing after the fast acceleration of detoxing. It is not always time to go for aggressive cleanses ; cycles of building and tearing down make a good team. It is not realistic to think about getting rid of the toxic material in a single cleanse. Cleanses have to be repeated with consistency, layer after layer (as for deprogramming the mind). It takes time before a new way of eating is able to produce noticeable changes in the flora.

It can take a few months before the body has recuperated enough energy to be able to start eliminating again. A tired and run down body cannot eliminate well. A healing crisis only comes when there is enough energy and activity available to the body. It will affect patients with stronger vitality and greater energy more profoundly. Individuals whose energy is too low do not experience these types of crisis. Consistency will see us repeat our efforts and stabilize our way of eating in between deeper cleanses.
